More than just a Makeup Artist… ✨

Hi! I’m Sophie Woods and I’d love the opportunity to do your makeup for your next occasion. Let me tell you about myself –

I’ve been passionate about makeup since I could reach into my mum’s makeup drawers to ‘borrow’ her mascara. To overcome my teenage acne and confidence issues, I enthusiastically learnt everything I could about my craft; reading books, watching videos and training with experts. But it was doing makeup for friends and family that really excited me and led me to start hosting makeup parties with Mary Kay Cosmetics.

I put my makeup passion aside while completing my Nutrition Science degree but working for Mecca Maxima in my final year at uni really refuelled my passion and led me to launch Women With Wings in January of 2022. Women With Wings is all about transformation from the inside, out. You don’t need makeup to be beautiful, it just enhances who you already are 🥰 It’s not just about the talent of the artist that makes you look and feel your best, it’s also the environment around you and their personality that will make you feel relaxed, fun and comfortable. I make my clients feel special, you’re not just another number, every individual is important to me. I want you to feel like you can tell me if you want any adjustments so that you leave feeling amazing and totally satisfied.

I have trained alongside top makeup artists such as Semone Riccardo, Mia Connor, and Sheridan Meyers. I also regularly participate in mentoring and Masterclasses with these artists to keep myself up to date with the latest makeup styles, techniques and products. As an added bonus, my passion for skin has lead me to invest in quality skincare, which I use on my clients to ensure the best possible results from their makeup experience.

Outside the makeup studio, I manage a Brisbane Cosmetic Dermatology clinic during the week while also offering fashion and dating assistance through my Total Transformation project. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, cuddling my adorable Cavoodle Ginger and dining out with my hubby Ben.
